Think about your desired location and environment
- Region: Choose a region that suits your preferences (sea, mountains, countryside), taking into account the climate, landscape and surrounding activities
- Proximity to your home: If you plan to go there frequently, opt for a campsite that is accessible in terms of distance and journey time.
- Immediate surroundings: Visit the surrounding area to assess the peace and quiet, nearby services and the landscape.
Choosing the right type of campsite
- Classification (stars): Campsites are graded from 1 to 5 stars according to the size of the pitches and the facilities and services on offer. However, don't rely on the stars alone: check online reviews or visit the site to see if the establishment meets your expectations.
- Atmosphere: Check whether the atmosphere suits your lifestyle (family, party or quiet). Analyse the profile of other residents (young people, families, retired people).
Selecting the right campsite pitch
- Surface area: Make sure the plot is large enough to accommodate your mobile home (generally 70 to 250 m² depending on the campsite).
- Internal location: For greater peace and quiet, choose a plot away from busy areas such as swimming pools or playgrounds. If you prefer entertainment, choose a pitch close to the facilities.
- Layout: Check the access to the plot, the possibility of parking and the landscaping (trees, lawn).
List services and amenities
- Connections: Make sure the plot is serviced with connections for water, electricity and sewage disposal.
- Infrastructure: Evaluate the facilities available (swimming pools, sports fields, entertainment) as well as services such as security or annual plot maintenance.
Analyse the rules and regulations and the contract
- Rules and regulations: Consult the campsite rules to check what is allowed on your plot (terraces, planting).
- Rental contract: Carefully analyse the contract with regard to the rental period, annual fees and cancellation conditions.
Estimating the budget
Take into account not only the purchase price of the mobile home but also:
- The campsite's annual fees.
- Maintenance costs and any local taxes.
